General Information

It enables users or businesses to extend their Office productivity software (including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and others) to allow installations to up to 5 different devices per user. The account is tied to the user, not to any one device, so it allows seamless interaction between working on home devices and on mobile devices. It also allows users to deactivate their software in the case that any one of their devices is compromised or if a person leaves the business.

General Information

TurningPoint clickers are supported by LSU and used in classrooms all across campus.

Benefits

  • You answer questions in private - no need for you to raise your hand and be called upon. 
  • The answers are collected almost instantly. This allows you and your instructor to make efficient use of your time together in the classroom.
  • The system (TurningPoint) will give a summary of all the answers submitted after the question ends, giving you and your instructor valuable and immediate feedback. With this feedback, your instructor will know what points need more discussion and explanation, and which points are understood.

 

IMPORTANT:

ALL STUDENTS using clickers must purchase a TurningPoint subscription. Please see the article below (Purchasing & Registering a Clicker/Subscription) on how to purchase a subscription and/or register.

How To Purchase / Obtain a Clicker

Students may need to purchase an SRS clicker for a class. The clickers may be purchased in the LSU Bookstore at the checkout counter. Once you have purchased a clicker, it is important that you register that clicker on PAWS. Then, when you "click in" an answer in class, your teacher can upload your grade on to Moodle.
 

Important First Steps

  1. Login to the myLSU Portal (my.lsu.edu).
     
  2. Click on Student Services located at the left hand side of the welcome screen.
     
  3. Click on SRS Keypad Registration.
     
  4. Select LSU in the drop down menu.
     
  5. Click Continue.
     
  6. Enter the Keypad ID or the Device ID which is a 6-Character combination of letters & numbers found below the barcode on the back of the device.
    • NOTE: There is no letter "O," only the number zero- "0".
  7. Click the Add button once to confirm your entry, and look for a message to confirm your clicker was registered successfully.

NOTE: You cannot use any Office software until your first day of class, regardless of status, if you are a new student.

 

To Install Office365 ProPlus on a Mac:

1. Sign in to Office365 using your LSUMail account (i.e. mtigers1@lsu.edu).

2. On the main screen, locate Other Installs at the top right corner of the screen.

3. Click Install in the middle of the screen.

4. After the download has finished, open the file to start the install, and on the Introduction page select Continue at the bottom right.

5. Select the Agree option to agree to the terms and conditions, then select Continue.

6. On the next screen, select Continue.

7. Now select Install

8. Now type in your computer password then select Install Software at the bottom right of the window.

9. Select Close to finish the installation process.
